Dubai - UAE: 27 April, 2015 – Assystem, an international engineering company, recently introduced an expert-level nuclear training program within the Assystem Nuclear Institute for senior staff in the Kingdom. The first two-day training session held from 21 to 22 April was attended by ten members of the senior management team of Assystem-Radicon in Saudi Arabia.
Led by Jean-Louis Ricaud, Vice President for Strategy and Innovation of Assystem, the training program imparts specialist knowledge to meet the needs of the management in Saudi Arabia and the GCC. Building on Assystem’s international expertise as the fourth largest independent nuclear engineering company worldwide, the program aims to further strengthen the nuclear capabilities of the local key personnel by sharing nearly half a century worth of proven practices and experiences. The training program conveys cutting-edge technical know-how, landmark project insights as well as latest market trends. It also informs about Assystem’s deep-seated culture of nuclear safety.
Speaking on his participation in the first session, Almahdi Kurdieh, Chief Executive Officer of Assystem-Radicon, said: “It was a truly enriching experience to get together with Assystem’s seasoned experts and engage in stimulating professional discussions. The wealth of insights into the offerings, policies and procedures will further enhance the skills of our senior staff and enable them to leverage Assystem’s comprehensive portfolio of global services for the benefit of our clients.”
The launch of the nuclear training program forms part of Assystem’s integration strategy for Radicon, the majority acquisition of which was announced in March 2015. The new entity Assystem-Radicon has doubled the size of Assytem’s regional footprint, created a new engineering offering in the Saudi Arabian market and is expected to increase its total staff strength to 800 over the next two years.
Stéphane Aubarbier, Executive Vice President and CEO, Energy and Infrastructure Division of Assystem, said: “The training program is designed specifically for the current and future Assystem-Radicon leaders in the Arabian Gulf region and will set the course for the growth of our regional operations. As a company with strong nuclear know-how, we operate in one of the fastest growing industries of the world. This training program provides an exceptionally valuable channel for the best-in-class internal knowledge transfer to facilitate our common journey.”
Kurdieh concluded: “We are proud to be one of the first companies to shape the future of Saudi Arabia’s nuclear energy sector. With the right mix of international experience and local talent, we provide a powerhouse of knowledge and skill that can develop the industry across the GCC.”
