Brighton College Dubai Pupils Celebrate Outstanding GCSE Results

48% of all results achieved at Grades 9-8

25% of results awarded the top Grade 9

Highest number of Grade 9s in school's history

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 20 August 2026: Brighton College Dubai is thrilled to announce the exceptional performance of its pupils in the 2026 GCSE exams. For the sixth consecutive year, the school has seen remarkable results, with Grade 9 being the most awarded grade. Notably, a quarter of the College’s grades were at this highest level, reflecting a significant accomplishment given the limited number awarded globally and a year-on-year improvement. 

In addition, an impressive 48% of all examinations were awarded the top tier Grades 9-8, a result of the hard work and dedication of both pupils and staff. This year also marked the highest number of Grade 9s the school has seen in its history, solidifying the College’s reputation for academic excellence.   

These results also highlight the breadth of achievement across the year group. Alongside their academic studies, pupils have continued to excel in sport, music, performing arts, leadership initiatives, community service and other co-curricular pursuits, embodying the well-rounded education that Brighton College Dubai strives to provide.

Among the highest-achieving pupils this year were:

  • Jyllian Guzman         8 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 7 
  • Keziah Hussain         7 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s 
  • Aadit Saboo            7 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8, 1 Grade 7 
  • Angus Strike           6 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s, 1 Grade 7 
  • Malaika Chaudhary       6 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s 
  • Anastasia Ivashkova     6 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s
  • Rebecca Johnson        6 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8, 1 Grade 7 

Among this year’s top performers is Jyllian Guzman, who achieved an outstanding eight Grade 9s and one Grade 7. Jyllian will continue her studies at Brighton College Dubai, where she will study English Language, English Literature, art and psychology. 

Keziah Hussain is another top performer achieving seven Grade 9s and three Grade 8s. Keziah consistently goes above and beyond her academic studies, seeking out opportunities to develop her skills and contribute to the wider community. During her summer break last year, she completed an additional internship at Mediclinic and visited a local community school in South Africa. 

Aadit Saboo is another outstanding performer, achieving seven Grade 9s, one Grade 8 and one Grade 7. His impressive results included a Grade 9 in further maths, a particularly challenging subject that requires an incredibly high level of mathematical ability and understanding. 

Founding pupil Malaika Chaudhary, who joined the College in 2018, achieved an exceptional six Grade 9s and three Grade 8s.

The College's commitment to helping every pupil fulfil their potential continues to be reflected not only in examination outcomes but also in the progress pupils make throughout their educational journey. The 2026 GCSE cohort has exemplified the values of curiosity, perseverance and kindness, contributing positively to the wider College community and approaching this year's unique challenges with maturity and determination.

Almost half of all grades were awarded at 9–8, while 67% were at 9–7, representing significant improvement on last year. These exceptional results are a wonderful reflection of the ambition and hard work of our pupils and the dedication of their teachers. There is a great deal to celebrate"
