Dubai, United Arab Emirates (May 24, 2015): Students of The International School of Arts and Sciences (ISAS) have successfully taken the exams under ABRSM – the examination board of the Royal Schools of Music. ISAS joins the league of the few schools in the UAE whose students have appeared for the prestigious test in music education.
In partnership with the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music, the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, ABRSM is a trusted body to set standards in music education in schools around the globe. It conducts 650,000 exams and assessments every year in 93 countries. ABRSM is committed to supporting high-quality music-making, learning and development throughout the world, and to producing the best possible resources for music teachers and students.
A total of 43 students took the ABRSM exam, out of which 8 students excelled with a distinction whereas 14 bagged a merit performance. The faculty at ISAS lauded the efforts of its students and congratulated them on achieving meritorious results. Gauging the successful results, and the hard work and diligence demonstrated by students and teachers alike, ISAS students are set to expand the reach of their achievements in the field of music.
Music - as an academic subject and a co-curricular activity - is an integral component of ISAS education & community. AMSI recognizes the far reaching benefits of playing musical instruments, for instance, in sharpening memory, increasing coordination, language development and in bolstering self-confidence. Through music education, AMSI also aims to foster a sense of team-work, creative thinking and discipline – important elements that greatly contribute in composing the finest of tunes.
ISAS, in line with the philosophies of Academia Management Solutions International (AMSI) – the parent body, champions a holistic approach to develop a student’s mind and personality. The school seeks to benefit from every aspect of education, and build a pool of talented and educated students who can contribute to societies positively.
