Experts says as more people embrace overall healthier lifestyles, these behaviors translates and gets integrated into their travel and vacation habits. For others, vacation provides an escape from the sedentary, unhealthy and busy lifestyles. As these two trends converge, many people commit their vacation time and money to wellness travel, as evidenced by their increased spending with India accounting for a substantial global market share.
A SRI International Study projects India to be number one globally for growth in Wellness Tourism over the next five years, clocking over 20 per cent gains annually through 2017.
Wellness travel is a $439 billion industry worldwide within the $3.2 trillion global tourism industry, representing 14 percent of all tourism spending. Spa experiences, opportunities for personal growth, yoga and meditation, fitness, stress reduction and holistic health are among the experiences sought by wellness travelers, according to Global Wellness Tourism Economy Report 2013. India expects a double-digit growth in foreign tourist arrivals from Middle Eastern countries this year.
At the show, visitors are encouraged to interact with the exhibitors and consider quality personalized therapies relevant to their overall well-being. Such Wellness consultations will also enable individuals to take increased responsibility for their physical and mental health behaviors.
Royal India Wellness exhibition has been specifically designed to motivate the desire for rejuvenation, healthy quality of life, disease management through holistic healing, stress reduction and smartly balancing mind, body and soul.
Dr. Isaac Mathai, Founder and Owner of SOUKYA, said: “It is important to educate the high-end wellness tourists from UAE and GCC. High–end tourism in wellness is a very strategic path of learning and information which is inevitable for complete wholeness of the body. It is important to know the whole history of the person before getting down to treatment. This is the real reason why high-end wellness is a very distinct industry and it needs to be explored well by media and visitors. Therefore the platform Royal India Wellness is a great thought and I endorse the same.”
