Ministry of Economy and Tourism organizes a workshop to enhance electronic connectivity between National Economic Registry ‘Growth’ and licensing authorities

H.E. Al Nuaimi: Developing the 'Growth' platform strengthens the competitiveness of the UAE's economic data ecosystem and reinforces its position as a global business hub 

Abu Dhabi, 04 August 2026:

The Ministry of Economy and Tourism organized an introductory technical workshop to enhance readiness of the electronic link between the National Economic Registry (‘Growth’ platform) and the licensing authorities in the UAE. The initiative supports the unification of economic data and enhances its efficiency, in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and with the participation of representatives from the licensing authorities. It aims to strengthen the integration of economic data and facilitate its exchange among the relevant stakeholders.

The workshop forms part of the Ministry's efforts to develop the National Economic Registry as a national project that supports digital transformation and aims to establish a unified, reliable national economic database for businesses in the UAE. This will improve data quality, enhance data integration across government entities, and support the preparation of economic reports and statistics to inform decision-making. The session was attended by 90 participants representing 33 federal and local government entities, licensing authorities, and free zones across the country.

His Excellency Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Entrepreneurship and Economic Affairs Regulatory Sector at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, said: “The development of the National Economic Registry ‘Growth’ is one of the key strategic projects aimed at enhancing the economic data system in the UAE. It contributes to building a unified and reliable national database that classifies more than 4000 economic activities, supports government entities, businesses, and investors, and enhances data-driven decision-making, thereby reinforcing the UAE's position as a global business hub.”

His Excellency underlined that enhancing the electronic linkage between the National Economic Registry and the licensing authorities reflects the importance of integration and partnership between various government entities. This is key to developing an advanced economic data system, which contributes to simplifying procedures, reducing reliance on manual processes, and improving customer experience.

In detail, the workshop reviewed the process for updating core data related to economic licences, including business requirements, technical aspects, and implementation mechanisms, while adopting a joint coordination framework between the Ministry of Economy and Tourism and the licensing authorities. It also discussed the key operational and technical challenges, along with the solutions required to address them, with the aim of enhancing the quality and reliability of economic data exchange and strengthening electronic connectivity among the relevant stakeholders.

As part of the development of the National Economic Registry ‘Growth,’ the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, continues to update the platform and complete the basic data received from licensing authorities in the mainland and free zones, including factory data and financial data for establishments and companies.
