[UAE, March 26, 2014] – H.E. Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, Minister of Education, led the UAE Ministry of Education's (MoE) annual event honoring its distinguished retirees, current officials and employees who recently earned their PhD and Master's degrees, strategic partners and journalists during a grand ceremony named ‘Loyalty Day.' The ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Abdul Qader Al Khayat, ICT Fund Chairman and member of Telecommunications Regulatory Authority's Board of Directors; directors of central departments and regional offices and a number of media personalities and public figures.

H.E Al Qatami said the MoE has been making significant contributions to the UAE Government's goal of achieving a first-class education system as outlined in UAE Vision 2021.  MoE has come up with initiatives and campaigns based on the results of its ministerial meeting and first government creativity laboratory, and the national agenda's development initiatives.

In his speech, H.E. Al Qatami said: “The discussions on issues and progress made in the education industry during our recent ministerial retreat showed what the sector has been receiving from our wise leadership. To achieve our objective, we have to work and strive together to help build society through human development and education. We also tackled the significant achievements made by the UAE Government in a global level as reported by international groups. The continuous progress has been achieved through the support of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and the Supreme Council members and senate rulers of the Emirates.”

He added: “Your generosity is highly appreciated and your dedication and loyalty deserves the best of appraisal. We would like to take this opportunity today, in this event, to express our gratitude and appreciation to everyone for your contributions in the past years. We have achieved significant development and remarkable progress. In regional and global arenas, UAE was able to achieve great results in terms of the implementation of ‘Smart Education.'”

Following the ceremony, H.E Al Qatami also recognized ministry officials as well as the ministry's team that handled development projects such as “Dorousy” and “Abnaee” initiatives. He also honored the retirees, employees with doctorate and master's degrees, partners and journalists.
