Debbie Nicol brings Leadership Challenge workshop to the DBWC's February Network Majlis event

Experts shows how organizations and individuals can perform to their peak potential
Dubai, UAE, 20 February 2014 – The Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC), the official representative organization for business women, both professionals and entrepreneurs, in the Emirate of Dubai, recently held their monthly Network Majlis event, at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, under the theme “Introduction to the Leadership Challenge”. Founder and managing director of ‘Business en Motion’ and creator of ‘Embers of the World’, Debbie Nicol, lead the three hour workshop.
More than 40 members from the DBWC attended the exclusive workshop during which they were given the opportunity to learn how organizations and individuals can perform to their peak potential. The Leadership Challenges transforms: Values into actions, Vision into reality, Obstacles into opportunity, Separateness into solidarity and Risk into reward.
Commenting on the workshop, Mrs. Raja Al Gurg, President of DBWC, said: “In the business world, we all face many challenges however it is crucial for a leader to know how to make the best out of every obstacle. Women in business today should have the key skills that will enable them to succeed in challenging situations as it can aid in the growth of their business.”
The three hour workshop gave participants the beneficial advantage to gain perspective about the growth and change within themselves and their organizations, appreciate the simplicity of leadership and understand the alignment in a common language.
Debbie’s career has been solely dedicated to embedding lifelong learning into organisational behavior, enabling people to be business owners and drivers. Commencing her career as a teacher, Debbie soon developed a passion for organizational development, applying it across Hotel Management Companies in property, regional and International leadership roles. Recognizing opportunity in alternate industries, her own business, ‘business en motion’ currently partners with the Banking, Logistics, Shipping, Oil, Retail, Automobiles, Hospitality, Information Security and Government sectors across Asia, Africa and specializing in Middle East, including Saudi Arabia. ‘Business en Motion’ adds value to both large corporations and growing, mid-sized companies.
She also recently launched a unique concept, process and toolkit for change, ‘Embers of the World’, focusing on story-telling as the impetus for self and corporate leadership change, while placing reflection and connection at its core.
“The great turn out at today’s Network Majlis proved that there is an underlying importance for women in business to learn more about leadership, associated skills and how to improve their ability to be a leader to lead their businesses and likely their own personal lives. We see many entrepreneurs attending these sessions as it also provides them a great networking environment with other members and a platform to obtain mentorship from established women in business which forms the core objectives of the DBWC,” concluded Mrs. Al Gurg.
