QNET sends UAE Rashid Centre stars to Kuala Lumpur

Nurturing special children’s talents and creativity
Dubai, UAE, 11th February 2014: QNET, one of Asia’s most prominent direct selling companies with its regional headquarters in UAE, together with Rashid Centre which provides high quality, integrated education services and therapies for children with special needs, is organizing a special cross-cultural student exchange program.
QNET is sending selected UAE students from Rashid Center to visit Taarana School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from February 16-22nd 2014.
His Highness Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum - Board member at Rashid Centre, was the guest of honor to the official announcement press conference held today 11th February 2014 at Rashid Center, along with His Excellency the General Consul of Malaysia for Dubai and Northern Emirates- Mr. Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, and Mr. Hareb Al Muhairi- Vice President of Etihad Airways , and Mrs. Mariam Othman – General Manager of Rashid Center, and Mr. Khaled Diab regional General Manager of QNET Middle East & North Africa.
His Highness Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum welcomed the attendees from guests of honor and media in his opening speech, and he expressed his happiness and the gratitude for the good initiative adopted by QNET to give Rashid Centre student such opportunity to experience a new culture, new place and meet with new people.
Khaled Diab said: “QNET has always had a soft spot for children with special needs. We want to support them and help them nurture their natural talents and creativity. We are sponsoring eight ‘Rashid Stars’, the troupe of young performers from the Rashid Centre, to have a one-of-a-kind discovery of Malaysia. They will be accompanied by their teachers and nurse. This upcoming visit to Kuala Lumpur will provide them a platform to interact with their counterparts in Taarana, QNET’s very own school for special children in Malaysia, showcase a special UAE dance, learn and enjoy a different culture throughout a diversified program with exciting activities and explorations.”
The seven-day visit to Kuala Lumpur will start with a welcome party by Taarana students who will warmly greet the Rashid Stars with flowers. A cultural exchange of dancing sessions will be shown with Taarana children performing a Malaysian traditional choreography and Rashid Centre’s children performing a UAE traditional choreography. For four days, the two groups will exchange their choreography techniques with each other.
A visit to Kuala Lumpur’s famous Bird Park will also be experienced by the Rashid Stars to show them the bird sanctuary and enjoy a nature walk. For a thrilling experience, they will visit Sunway Lagoon, a multi- award winning amusement and attraction theme park. To express their creative talents, a painting and hand craft workshop is prepared wherein every child from Taarana and every child from Rashid Centre will prepare a special art gift for a chosen friend.
At the end of the day, they will exchange their pieces of art with their fellow students as a form of remembrance.
On the sixth day, a special dancing performance by all the children will be presented to a delegation of QNET top executives from QNET Malaysia, in presence of His Excellency the UAE ambassador in Malaysia.
Mrs. Mariam Othman, General Manager of Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre, concludes: “Our aim is to provide Rashid Center’s students with something much more than just basic services and education. We are keen to give them quality experiences to develop their skills, talents and help improve their adaptation with others. QNET is giving us this wonderful opportunity to allow our kids to be in touch with their fellows at Taraana School and exchange their talents and knowledge. We are all looking forward to this exceptional program that will enrich UAE students’ lives and open up a world of travel and cross-cultural experiences. ”
The QNET-Rashid Center collaboration on the special student exchange program is one of the core programs that is in line with QNET’s ‘Touching a Billion hearts Campaign’.
