Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation Honors 396 Outstanding Achievers for High Scores in School Exit Exams

Dubai-UAE: 25 January, 2014: The Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) has honored high-caliber students under its care who are students of the UAE's schools and universities for the sixth consecutive year to encourage them to pursue academic and scientific excellence. A total of 396 minors were also recognized for their outstanding academic achievements, including Ni'mah Ali bin Awad who scored a 99% aggregate in her high school exit exams for the academic year 2012-2013.
The AMAF hosted a special ceremony on Saturday, 25 January to honor the outstanding students and their mothers at the Dubai Women's Association. The event was attended by His Excellency Tayeb Al Rais, Secretary General of AMAF and Mona Abdullah, Deputy Director of the Dubai Educational Zone.
The Foundation also honored students Fatima Hussein Mohammed and Zahra Hussein Mohammed for winning the gold medal in athletics at a special event held at the Armed Forces Officers Club, Abu Dhabi.
His Excellency Tayeb Al Rais, Secretary General of AMAF, said: "I congratulate all the high achievers and wish them continued success. Today, AMAF honors these hardworking students for their excellence and success in their last competitive exams. We are confident they will put the knowledge obtained to good use and participate in effective educational and career pursuits that ensure long-term sustainability and benefit of the people and the nation.
“At AMAF, we are committed as per the directives of our wise leadership to create qualified minors who are trained to play effective roles in society and prove that difficult conditions only serve to reinforce the qualities of determination and courage."
Al Rais noted that AMAF works to provide comprehensive care that also includes fulfilling the educational needs of more than 2,650 minors at various levels while enabling their moral and scientific development.
Al Rais said: “At AMAF, we encourage our young people to learn and grow in every possible area to mold them worthwhile representatives of the UAE in the years to come."
Al Rais said that the AMAF seeks to play a key role in actively engaging and empowering its minors to occupy key management roles within the emirate of Dubai as part of their rehabilitation and integration process. Through the delivery of such quality care and services to its minors, in line with Dubai's strategic goals, the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation seeks to establish itself as a global benchmark in the field of minors' development, endowment, and rehabilitation.
Mona Abdullah Mohammed, Deputy Director of the Dubai Educational Zone, applauded the efforts of AMAF in supporting orphans and fulfilling their holistic development needs to ensure they play an inclusive part of the community. She also complimented the Foundation's commitment to providing moral and psychological support to minorities who constitute an important segment of society.
Conforming to best practices in corporate governance, AMAF is considered the primary reference for endowments in Dubai and the authorized body for the welfare of minors. The Foundation is reputed among the community, endowers and private institutions across the globe for its transparent operation that includes the issuance of periodic reports to endowers and guardians of minors. AMAF comprises a highly-qualified management and specialized human resources team, most of who are UAE nationals.
