Tide Loads of Hope Arrives in Alberta To Help People Affected by Recent Floods

Tide's Mobile Laundry Program comes to High River to provide free laundry services

HIGH RIVER, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

WHO: The service is available to all families or individuals in need of clean clothes.

WHAT:

Beginning Tuesday, July 2nd, the Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry program will be providing free full service laundry to relief workers and residents of Alberta who are in need of resources and support following the damage caused by the floods in Southern Alberta. These residents and workers are encouraged to drop off their laundry to be washed, dried and folded, free of charge. No bedding, jackets, or other large pieces will be accepted. Please limit one load per family per day. Prior to the arrival of the Loads of Hope mobile laundry service, Tide worked with Glenmore Coin Laundry to provide emergency services to Calgary residents. Working together, they washed over 650 loads of laundry in the past 4 days, assisting families that have been impacted by the floods in Calgary.

WHY:

Tide has learned that little things - like clean clothes - can make a big difference to those who have lost the comforts of home. The recent floods have devastated parts of Alberta and forced many residents from their homes, leaving them without basic needs and resources. Tide Loads of Hope is prepared to help relief workers and families whose clothing and personal items have been impacted and to help renew a sense of hope to individuals in need.

 WHERE:

High River, Alberta - at the corner of 12th Ave. & 5th St. SE. We will be accepting 1 load per family per day and accepting laundry from 8:30 am- 5:30pm starting on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013. For updates, visit Facebook.com/Tide or follow @Tide #LoadsofHope on Twitter.

 HISTORY:

This marks the first time that the Tide Loads of Hope program has come to Canada. Tide Loads of Hope was created in 2005 to provide much needed free laundry services to families affected by Hurricane Katrina. Inspired by the resilience and spirit of the people of New Orleans, Tide was driven to expand the Loads of Hope program and to continue to help those affected by disaster.
