British Orchard Kids Kingdom Nursery wins Sharjah Economic Excellence Network Award

The pre-school becomes the first-ever educational institution to be honored with the title in the history of the Award

February 11, 2018; Sharjah, UAE:   British Orchard Kids Kingdom Nursery, part of the British Orchard Nursery chain, won the distinction of being the first-ever educational institution to be awarded the prestigious Sharjah Economic Excellence Network Award 2017. The nursery won the title in the category of “Sharjah Top 10 Businesses Award 2017”, and was presented the award by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. In all, 23 establishments were honored for their contribution to economic sector across GCC in the recently-held ceremony at Expo Centre Sharjah. 

Other categories at the award ceremony included: Sharjah Top 10 GCC Businesses Award 2017, Sharjah UAE Startups Award 2017, Sharjah Entrepreneurs Award 2017, Sharjah Green Award 2017 and Sharjah CSR Award 2017. 

Speaking at the award ceremony, Dr Vandana Gandhi, Founder and CEO of British Orchard Nursery, said: “It’s an honour to be singled out at such a prestigious forum, and I take this opportunity to thank His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah, as well as the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry for recognising our efforts. The award also highlights the fact that each of the British Orchard’s 18 nurseries is an example of excellence and high quality educational standards. We take pride in our contribution towards the educational sector in the UAE, and in the spirit of the Year of Zayed, we will continue to instil our leader’s deeply-rooted values, principles and traditions in the youngsters”. 

Dr Gandhi further added: “Pre-school education is the fundamental step that instills love for learning and channelizes proper growth in a child. This is why our key focus is on ensuring that every child in each of our nurseries receives holistic education that encompasses both academic and co-curricular activities. Our programmes are also designed to include parent participation which is an essential aspect of a child’s upbringing”. 

The Sharjah Economic Excellence Network Award is a Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry initiative aimed at promoting corporate governance, promoting quality standards and work ethic, developing the responsibility of private sector enterprises towards society, encouraging environmentally friendly practices, and enhancing the role of economic institutions in promoting sustainable development.
