Zak World of Façades Middle East to highlight disruptive and digital technologies in modern façade design & engineering

Dubai, UAE; February 5, 2018:  The fourth edition of the Zak World of Façades, the region’s premier conference on façade design and engineering, will focus on the latest innovations and challenges in the construction industry pertaining to the building envelope, and digital impact on modern façade design. 

A line-up of industry leaders is confirmed to speak at the event including Filippo Lodi, Head of Innovation and Knowledge Management, UNStudio; John Kim, Design Director, AE7; Richard Fenne, Principal, Woods Bagot; Mathieu Meur, Director - Technical, DP Architects; Armin Buchbinder, Head of Design, BSBG; Benjamin Beer, Technical Director, Meinhardt Façade Technology and others.

According to Syed Zakir Ahmed, Chairman and Managing Director of ZAK conference, “Among the GCC countries, the UAE leads the construction sector for the use of the most advanced technologies in creating some of the world’s best renowned iconic structures in the region. The urban construction sector in Dubai itself has more than 3,200 active projects amounting to a combined estimated value of over $245 billion, comprising a whopping 42 per cent of the total estimated value of all active projects in the UAE. The façade, which is the most import element of a building, is where we see most innovations happening. The conference will bring together industry leaders to discuss innovative technologies and latest global architectural façade trends in modern façade design including but not limited to digital advancements including 3D printing, BIM for façades, hybrid and sustainable façades, etc.” 

The conference will also discuss the fire safety regulations in the region for building façades. 

Around 400 delegates from the regional industry are expected to attend the one-day conference on March 20th at Conrad Hotel, Dubai. The event is targeted at senior architects, developers, façade consultants, PMCs, façade contractors and key consultants and decision makers.
