Ajman University Achieves Korean Milestones

Opens Bilateral Corridor of Knowledge with Korean Universities
In its endeavors to broaden its educational horizons, Ajman University of Science & Technology signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with three distinct Universities in South Korea. In its 27 years of educational excellence, Ajman University has always prioritized such that the students can reap the benefits of its accomplishments both academically and professionally.
Within this framework, Mr. Osama Salman, Vice President, Ajman University of Science and Technology, signed the Memoranda which outlines the facilitation of students and faculty exchange. The institutions will also be conducting joint conferences, seminars, workshops and research projects, amongst other avenues of cooperation. Similarly, knowledge sharing is of paramount importance and therefore this will be enabled by ensuring bilateral exchange of research results, academic materials and publications issued by both institutions.
The first MoU was with Sookmyung Women’s University, a private university in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Founded in 1906, Sookmyung is Korea’s first royal private educational institution for women. Today, it has 100,000 alumni and 13,000 currently enrolled students. Over the 107 years of history of educating women leaders. It has accumulated invaluable educational experience, research capabilities and community service experience. Dr. Sun Hye Hwang, President, Sookmyung Women’s University signed the MoU to initiate mutually beneficial exchange of faculty and student.
Ajman University also entered into a MoU with CHA University in Korea, further opening the channel of experience and expertise. CHA University is a leading institution of teaching and research with over half a century of experience they excel in Bio-Medical and medicine for the benefit of humanity at large. Their network includes CHA Hospital, Research Institutes, Medical Service Institutes, Educational Institutes and they specialize in Anti-aging, Stem Cell Generation and Fertility. They aim to produce the next generation of medical and health science leaders and like Ajman University, they mainly focus on and promote research. Chang Jin Moon, Vice President CHA University signed the MoU at its campus in Gyeongghi-do in South Korea.
The third MoU was with Daelim University College was founded in 1977, its academic offerings are provided through divisions of Engineering, Humanities and Society, Arts, and Natural Science. This was the third MoU signed by Ajman University of Science and Technology. It is a private technical college providing professional training to produce highly qualified and skilled graduates and its programs are centered on the ACE education, that is, active, creative and ethical. Mr. Joong-Soo Nam, President Daelim University signed the deed in their aspiration to facilitate exchange of experience and technical knowledge between the two institutions.
Ajman University delegation members that witnessed these milestones included Prof. Ahmed Ankit, Assistant to President for External Relation and Cultural Affairs, Prof. Zeinelabidin Rizk, Dean, Institute Environment, Water and Energy and Dr. Chuloh Jung, Associate Professor, College of Engineering at Ajman University. Korean Institutions and Ajman University have forged and paved a new path for the students and generations of knowledge seekers in both countries.
