Stacey Bendet’s Spring 2015 collection for alice + olivia takes its inspiration from a visit to Versailles as Bendet reimagines the eighteenth century palace to be a modern art installation where fashion becomes the object to admire. Each item from the collection can stand on its own or at Stacey’s hand be mixed to create a modern romantic, girly rock and roll vibe. 

Graphic prints derive reference from both Matisse and Picasso along with a digital image of the palace gardens at Versailles. Another highlight is a painted print created by Stacey’s longtime friend Lola Schnabel. These intricate prints are balanced out with bold graphic statement prints and stripes.

Mixing bright and light, the color palette for spring uses white and black as its anchor while cool lavender, coral, and aqua tones combine with vibrant shades of sunset orange, canary yellow, and umbrella blue. Playful pastels and sherbets also appear in the lineup as do white on white pairings.

At alice + olivia this spring, dresses are a key silhouette with a new pleated silk chiffon handkerchief hemmed gown standing out as well as fiercely sexy pencil dresses done in bright solids and bold black and white graphic prints. There are satin ankle length pants, highwaisted striped culottes and crepe wide leg trousers.  Shirt dressing also plays a part as do 70s era inspired halter necklines.  A chic umbrella blue striped button down is shown with an embroidered floral jacquard ball gown skirt while a white button with an extended hem is seen over Bermuda shorts. 

Stacey gives fancy pieces with lavish beading and lux volume a daytime casualness resulting in a slightly bohemian feel.  Beaded sweatshirts and t-shirts are mixed with cool toned leather pieces and an embellished crop top is seen with a matching straight lined evening skirt with a sheer underlay.  A beaded, multi colored, print long blazer is paired with bold striped pencil pants.
