Majid Al Futtaim Continues Middle East Expansion with New Abercrombie & Fitch Store in Kuwait

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 11 May 2015 – Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa, has announced further plans to expand Abercrombie & Fitch Co.’s presence across the region.

American specialty retailer, Abercrombie & Fitch Co., operates three brands within its offering; Abercrombie & Fitch, abercrombie kids, and Hollister. Following the success of the first Abercrombie & Fitch store that opened in Kuwait City’s, The Avenues Mall, in 2014, a second store in Kuwait’s 360 MALL continues to develop Majid Al Futtaim and Abercrombie & Fitch’s presence in the Middle East.    

In 2013, Majid Al Futtaim Fashion announced a joint ventures agreement with the leading retailer and casual wear clothing brand, with respect to both its Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch brands.  Since the announcement, the first Abercrombie & Fitch store was opened to great success in Kuwait, and now the second store opens following growing demand from consumers in the city. 

This demonstrates A&F further supporting the brand’s international growth in the Middle East.

Hollister, also part of the Abercrombie & Fitch Co. holding company, has also successfully launched in the region.  Hollister launched in the UAE in Mall of the Emirates in January 2014 with the highest ever opening day sales for the US brand, and has since gone on to open two further stores in Yas Mall and Dubai Mall in the UAE. 

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. currently operates 790 stores in the United States and 173 stores across Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East. The brand is synonymous for its contemporary store designs as well as its high-quality, casual apparel for men, women and children.
