United Arab Emirates, Dubai, April 29, 2015: In line with Al-Futtaim Motors’ on-going efforts to raise road safety awareness among the youth in the UAE, the company hosted children from the Japanese Club of Dubai, for a road safety day at the Toyota 3S facility at Al Badia, Dubai Festival City.
The road safety day included a tour of the Toyota Al Badia service centre, where children were educated about Toyota’s service practices that maintain the legendary quality, durability and reliability of each Toyota vehicle on the road. A special manufacturing process video by visiting guests from the Toyota Motor Corporation gave the children also an inside look at how Toyota cars are built.
The tour was complemented by a safety presentation by reigning and three-time Drift UAE champion, Ahmed Al Ameri, who explained the importance of road awareness and safe driving methods to be taken while behind the wheel.
Speaking about the company’s safety initiatives, Jon Williams, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Motors, said: “Throughout these targeted safety initiatives, we have noticed that engaging with youths yields positive output on both future and current drivers. Children have the ability to influence their parents’ driving habits, and being aware of how to conduct themselves on the road and respecting other drivers will translate into safer roads across the UAE.”
The students also partook in a pedal car race and various other activities that aimed at adding edutainment elements to the visit.
The event is part of a series of similar activities that Al-Futtaim Motors will be conducting across youth communities to help reinforce road safety and responsible driving messages.
