Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 24, 2026: Kia Middle East & Africa has unveiled the Kia PV5 in the region, marking the Middle East and Africa debut of the brand's first Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) model at the Museum of the Future in Dubai.

Designed as a fully electric mobility solution, the Kia PV5 represents a new approach to transportation that combines practicality, flexibility, and next-generation technology. As the first model within Kia's PBV lineup, the PV5 has been developed to adapt to the evolving needs of individuals, businesses, and communities, supporting applications ranging from urban mobility and commercial use to leisure and lifestyle needs.

Built around a modular architecture, the PV5 enables users to select a configuration tailored to their operational needs. The regional display in Dubai highlighted six key applications: the PV5 Passenger for personal mobility, ride-hailing and shuttle use; the PV5 Cargo for logistics, delivery and SME operations; the PV5 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle for inclusive mobility; the PV5 Prime Edition conversion for premium guest and executive transport; and the PV5 Drop Side superstructure for specialised delivery applications.

Commenting on the launch, Ahmed Soudodi, Vice President for Kia Middle East & Africa, said: "The Kia PV5 represents a major step forward in our vision for the future of mobility. As our first Platform Beyond Vehicle model, it reflects Kia's commitment to delivering innovative mobility solutions that adapt to the changing needs of customers and businesses. By combining flexibility, advanced technology and electric mobility within a purpose-built platform, the PV5 opens new possibilities for how people move, work and connect. We are proud to introduce this groundbreaking vehicle to the Middle East and Africa as we continue expanding Kia's future mobility ecosystem across the region."

The PV5 reflects Kia's human-centric design philosophy, combining functionality with thoughtful innovation. From its open and flexible cabin layout to its connected technologies and intelligent vehicle systems, every element has been engineered to enhance comfort, convenience, and usability. The PV5 also reinforces Kia's commitment to sustainable mobility through efficient battery options and optimised energy management.

Kia PV5: A flexible electric platform for multiple mobility needs

The Kia PV5 boasts multiple configurations for diverse needs.

Kia PV5 Passenger brings a new level of practicality to electric passenger mobility. Designed for personal transportation, ride-hailing, car-sharing, hotel shuttles and corporate mobility, it combines a spacious cabin with easy access through sliding doors and generous luggage capacity. Its flexible interior and quiet electric drivetrain make it suitable for both private users and professional passenger transport operators.

Kia PV5 Cargo is designed to meet the growing demands of transportation, logistics, SMEs and fleet operations across the region. With a cargo volume up to 4.42 cubic metres, low loading height and practical loading access, it is well suited for urban delivery, service fleets, utilities and last-mile logistics. The Cargo model is available with battery configurations designed to support different operational requirements, including a long-range 71.2 kWh battery offering a NEDC range of up to 524 kilometres, depending on specification.

Kia PV5 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) demonstrates Kia's commitment to inclusive mobility. Designed to support both general passengers and people of determination, the PV5 WAV provides a practical accessible mobility solution with dedicated wheelchair access features and an optimised passenger area. As an OEM-produced solution, it offers customers a complete approach by combining the base vehicle and accessibility equipment within one integrated mobility solution.

Kia PV5 Prime Edition luxury conversion demonstrates how Kia's PBV platform can be adapted for premium mobility applications in the region. Developed to serve hotels, resorts, executive transport providers and premium customer shuttle services, the Prime Edition focuses on enhanced interior comfort, privacy and passenger experience. It showcases the ability of the PV5 platform to support customers requiring elevated levels of refinement and personalisation.

Kia PV5 Drop Side highlights the commercial flexibility of Kia's PBV portfolio. Built on a PV5 Chassis-Cab platform, it can support applications such as, box Van, Freezer Box and utility solutions and other business-specific conversions. This makes the PV5 relevant not only for cargo van operations, but also for public sector fleets, facility management, maintenance services, construction support and other commercial users requiring application-specific body solutions.

Across all configurations, the Kia PV5 benefits from a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Smart Cruise Control and Speed Limit Assist, depending on market specification. Connected technologies, telematics, real-time diagnostics and vehicle monitoring further enhance its suitability for professional fleet applications.

To help maximise uptime, the PV5 supports both AC and DC charging solutions, including DC fast charging capability that enables charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes, depending on charger capacity, battery condition and operating environment.

The Kia PV5 integrates AAOS (Android Automotive OS) to deliver native Google services, OTA updates, and business-focused applications. Additionally, through PV5 IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) equipped with AAOS, customers can experience a safer and more enjoyable business-focused open ecosystem.

The PV5 has already received significant international recognition, including 2026 International Van of the Year, BBC TopGear Family Car of the Year for the PV5 Passenger, a five-star 2025 Euro NCAP Commercial Van Safety rating for the PV5 Cargo, and a Guinness World Record for electric van range achieved by the PV5 Cargo.

Kia's PBV ecosystem will continue to expand through additional PV5 versions and future PBV models, as well as concept prototypes like PV5 WKNDR concept, further demonstrating the versatility of Kia's Platform Beyond Vehicle model range and its potential to support customers across passenger mobility, logistics, smart city transport, taxi operations, accessibility and specialised commercial applications.
