MINI showcases advanced technology at STEP Conference 2015 with MINI Connected

In-car infotainment revolution offers safe, comfortable and intuitive control 

Dubai, UAE, April 2, 2015 – MINI, Britain’s most iconic brand, showcased MINI Connected, an entire new spectrum of in-car infotainment, communication and online functions, at yesterday’s STEP Conference – the most innovative technology, design, and gaming event in the Middle East.

AGMC, the official BMW Group importer for Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, showcased the innovative functions of the MINI Connected service at yesterday’s event, which took place at Dubai International Marine Club, demonstrating how it revolutionises in-car infotainment through integrating the online world into the vehicle. 

From Web Radio, Twitter and Facebook to News, Dynamic Music and more, MINI Connected is available across all of MINI’s family members, including the newly launched MINI 5 Door Hatch, and connects drivers to the in-car infotainment system via their smartphone. 

Features of MINI Connected

Web Radio:
•    Connects drivers to global radio stations on-the-go

Social (Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter):
•    Keeps drivers in the loop via their iPhone by connecting them to their internet community 

News:
•    Offers drivers access to their favourite headlines and newsfeeds on the MINI screen, allowing them to tailor the news to their interests

Minimalizm Analyser:
•    Helps drivers to tune their driver skills by logging information including fuel consumption and emissions, speeds and gear change points.

Dynamic Music:
•    Allows drivers to specially create and play music according to their mood. With increased speed, the sound is faster, while with a slower pace, the music is much calmer. The steering wheel and indicators can also be used to vary the soundtrack to suit the drivers’ mood.

Plug In
•    Connects all iPod music features, such as Genius Playlists and Apple iPod Out, to the in-car screen for an enjoyable driving experience. The operation is simple and intuitive via the MINI Joystick.
