Government Summit names‘GEMS Education' as Leading Education Partner

• ‘Better Schools, Better Jobs, Better Life’ report to be launched in cooperation with OECD during third Summit in Dubai
Dubai, January 29, 2015: The Government Summit, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai,has announced the nomination of ‘GEMS Education’ as the Leading Education Partner for the third edition of the Summit, to be organizedin Dubai under the theme,‘Shaping Future Governments’, from February 9 to 11, 2015.
During the Summit, GEMS Education will launch a report titled, ‘Better Schools, Better Jobs, Better Life’, in collaboration with Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), addressing the future vision of the education policies in the UAE and the region.
Her Excellency Ohood Al Roumi, Director General of Prime Minister’s Office and Deputy Chairperson of the Organizing Committee of the Government Summit, commended the GEMS Group for selecting the Government Summit platform to launch the report on the future of education. The Government Summit agenda has laid great emphasis on adopting a scientific approach to the comprehensive development of education in line with UAE Vision 2021, H.E. Al Roumi added.
H.E. Al Roumi said the nomination of GEMS Education as the leading education partner is consistent with the objectives of the Government Summit to adopt a futuristic view of issues that have a major impact on the lives of people. “Education represents the cornerstone of future development, and this partnership comes as part of efforts to create constructive cooperation between the public and private sectors on issues of national relevance,” H.E. Al Roumi stated.
H.E. Al Roumi said: “This partnership confirms the status of the Government Summit as the largest platform of its kind in the world to exchange knowledge, present best practices and discuss the role of future governments.The Summit focuses on the latest developments in government administration, showcasing the best international experiences that can contribute to the well-being of communities and the future generations.”

The GEMS Education report focuses on the importance of building the skills of individuals and adopting leading education policies strategies. According to the report, the progress and future prosperity of countries depend on its success in the development of viable and clear strategiesin finding a balance between education and the requirements of the labor market. The report also highlights the importance of stimulating entrepreneurial skills and innovative foundations in the early grades keeping in mind the economic development of the knowledge-based economy.
The third edition of the Government Summit will be attended by more than 2000 participants. On the occasion, over 60 high-profile speakers, including world leaders, decision-makers, ministers, CEOs, thought leaders in government innovation, government officials and experts, will share ideas and visions on the future of government services, taking part in more than 30 interactive sessions.
