The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA) organizesintroductory tour for participants of the National Programme for Leadership Development to FNC

ABU DHABI, 3 January 2015:In line with its commitment to promote a culture of political partnership among the public, the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA) joined hands with the General Secretariat of the Federal National Council and the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare (GAYSW), to organise a visit for 70 participants from the National Programme for Leadership Development to the Federal National Council. They also held a meeting with the associates to raise awareness about the role of MFNCA in strengthening their political awareness.

His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, the Undersecretary of the MFNCA, underlined the importance of organising leadership programmes to empower young people and build their leadership and intellectual skills. “This is of paramount importance to addressfuture challenges by strengthening individual and social responsibility towards the nation.”

HE Lootah said that the UAE focuses on building the social, economic and political aspects to promote all-round development led by community interaction, especially among youth and by working with the nation’s institutions. 

HEDr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazroui, the Secretary-General of the Federal National Council, delivered a working paper on FNC and its functions and importance in the political system of the UAE. He explained how the Council contributes to sustainable development and builds relations among federal authorities through its participation in discussing and adopting legislation. He also highlighted FNC’s role in enhancing the effectiveness of various executive institutions and in promoting investment in the areas of human development, infrastructure, and political participation.

His Excellency Dr. Saeed Al Ghufli, Assistant Undersecretary for Federal National Council Affairs in MFNCA, also presented a paper explaining about the Ministry’s strategies, the culture of political participation, programmesfor political empowerment by His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed the President of UAE, the election to the FNC, and the role of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs in promoting a culture of political participation among young people. Youth is one of the most important community groups that can strengthen the march of the UAE towards the further development and excellence.

HE Al Ghufli thanked His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazroui and the Secretariat Federal National Council for hosting visitors. The visit was followed by an open dialogue between the participants and speakers.
