Last Update: Saturday, November 29, 2014 : 22:22 (+4GMT)
Qatar prominent construction company “URBACON” has called on the construction markets in GCC to imitate “The Big 5 Show in Dubai” which held from November 17 to 20 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
This year’s edition of Big 5, the international building and construction trade exhibition, hosted 33 Qatari companies among other MENA and World companies.
“It has been a very important exhibition for the 33 Qatari companies, and all participants, so it would be great to imitate such a successful show by making another Big 5 show in each Gulf country,” said Moataz Al Kayyat, the CEO of the Doha-based Urbacon Trading & Contracting (UCC).
Qatar-based Urbacon Trading and Contracting Company (UCC) has been ranked the fourth best contractor in the Arab world and 184 globally in the list compiled by Engineering News-Record (ENR), a weekly magazine for the construction industry worldwide.
“Big 5 , as a regional show, gives all contactors a big chance to strongly learn and understand the changes in the market and discover new opportunities, so having local Big 5 Shows will help the construction market in each country,” said Al Khayyat.
Al Khayyat also said that “Big 5 Exhibition highlights one of the most important things in the world of construction which is the latest technology in this industry, in addition to energy efficiency and sustainability products.”
UrbaCon Trading and Contracting was established in 2011 and has grown to being one of the largest Turnkey General Contractors in the Region, Projects such as major Mixed Use sites, Resorts and Hotels, major Parks, Parking Garages, Malls and Infrastructures are making up a large portion of UCC’s Multi-Billion dollar contracts, With over 2,500 professional staff, approximately 16,000 skilled labor and over 400 pieces of heavy equipment, UCC is well positioned to assume a large share of the development of Qatar’s Z030 vision.
