Izil Natural Argan Beauty's Guide to the Perfect Hammam at Home
Last Update: Sunday, September 14, 2014 : 18:59 (+4GMT)
Dubai, Sunday 14th September 2014: The summer season is all about flaunting healthy, supple skin because let’s face it, it’s the best look to wear all year round especially when it’s time to hit the beach! A lot of ladies hit the gym to tone their bodies to get bikini ready, but many tend to forget about preparing their skin.
The traditional Moroccan bath or the Hammam has been a huge hit in the Arabian market as a treatment fit for queens. Essentially a steam bath, this luxurious treatment involves using Olive based Soap and Rhassoul clay to reveal soft and beautiful skin. Luckily, you now don’t have to spend a fortune and go to the salon when you can achieve the same results in the comfort of your own home using organic products from Izil Natural Argan Beauty. Just make sure you allot an hour for the treatment so you can enjoy the same luxurious atmosphere as you would in the spa or salon!
Firstly, make sure your bathroom is not cold – the idea is to keep the room as warm as possible, so avoid stepping in and out of the room. Secondly make sure you’re prepared with all the items you need as follows:
1. “Beldi Black” Moroccan Soap by Izil (AED 69)
2. Detoxifying Body Mask Powder by Izil (AED 95)
3. Hammam Glove (Kessa) by Izil (AED 60)
4. Towels
5. Rose Water (Optional)
To start, pour warm water over yourself and start applying the “Beldi Black” Soap in circular motions. Begin with your legs, then move to the arms and finally work on your torso area. The Moroccan soap is loaded with beneficial Olive & Argan oils and Eucalyptus essential oil that work together to detoxify your skin by removing dead cells and toxins. Leave the soap on for 5 – 10 mins and then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Apply a small quantity of the soap again and rub your skin vigorously with the Kessa (Hammam Glove), working more vigorously in the areas where cellulite has gathered. Remember to use vertical strokes (not circular) with the glove to remove dead skin cells. At this stage, you should really be able to see the dead skin peeling away! Finally rinse with warm water.
Since we have scrubbed the dead skin away, now it’s time to nourish the newly revealed skin. Mix the detoxifying Izil Body Mask Powder with some rose water or regular warm water until it forms a thick paste. Apply the clay mask on your skin and let it sit for 10 minutes. The Rhassoul clay, which is a natural detoxifying agent along with the 7 essentials oil will leave your skin feeling revitalised. Rinse off with warm water and pat yourself dry with a towel.
Finish off by drinking a glass of cold water to hydrate yourself again. For added benefits, use the Green Tea Body lotion all over and you are now all set to show off your gorgeous, glowing skin.
This Hammam ritual will not only leave you feeling great, but will also help you relax and de-stress. Try to do this weekly for lasting results and to keep your skin looking healthy.
