The 11th Annual Doha Jewellery and Watch Exhibition Celebrates Another Year of Success!

- The Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition was opened to the public from February 25 to March 2, 2014 at the Qatar National Convention Centre
- 40,000 numbers of visitors attended the show, breaking last year’s record.
- New this year, were special daily Catwalks and celebrity guest appearances
- More than 500 of the world’s best known and most prestigious gemstone and watch brands
Doha, Qatar, March 31, 2014: Under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Qatar, Minister of Interior, HE Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani , the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) 2014, held for the first time as the Qatar National Convention Centre was a great success. A staggering 40,000 numbers of people attended the exhibition which held some of the world’s most extraordinary and luxurious jewellery, gemstones and timepieces.
The six day annual event was organized by Qatar Tourism Authority in partnership with q.media events and for the first time – Fira Barcelona and sponsored by Qatar National Bank. The exhibition which encompassed more than 500 of the most luxurious gemstones and precious watches, attracted media and patrons from local, regional and global destinations. With a plethora of glittering jewellery and extravagant timepiece, organizers reported that the exhibitors present at the show collectively had pieces on display which exceeded 600 million Qatari Riyals.
Visitors were entertained at this year’s show with daily Catwalks. Occurring from 6pm-8pm, fashion conscious visitors saw everything from dazzling diamonds, bejeweled jewellery to sophisticated watches. There were also celebrity appearances by Lebanese born singer, actress, presenter, fashion icon and brand ambassador to Voyaeur, Maya Diab and Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton is best known as being the youngest Formula One race car series winner and is currently brand ambassador for IWC Schaffhausen. Upon his entrance to the show, he described the annual exhibition as “spectacular.”
This year, International brands that were featured in the show included: Mouawad Jewellery W.L.L., AL Zain Trading Co WLL, Graff/Qatar Marketing Co., Christie’s Jewellery, David Webb. Significant local exhibitors that could be seen were: Al Fardan Jewellery Company, Ali Bin Ali group, Al Majed Jewellery, Blue Salon, Al Muftah Jewellery, Amiri Gems WLL, Fifty One East, Al Jaber watches, Marzooq Al Shamlan & Sons WLL, Al Majed Pearls / Dar Al Majid Jewellery, Royal Jewellery (Al Malakia), Bulgari Jewellery, Al Makki Jewellery & Watches, Al Mawla Jewellery, Matis Jewellery , Versailles Jewellery, Wazni Jewellery, Doha Marketing Services Co. (Domasco) Tiara Jewellery, Tzarina Jewellery, Blue Diamond Group, Paris Gallery, Domasco, Mattis Jewellery, Charmeleena, Sabek and Safana Jewellery.
Featured also at the show was home-grown brand Qatar Luxury Group (QELA). The brand which has international reach debuted, their most recent creations in previous metals and gemstones. Their lines which took inspirations from Qatar’s tranquil and vibrant landscapes were a reminder of the beauty that exists in the country.
