PRE Basel 2014: Turbine XI Vegas from Perrelet

Perrelet is upping the stakes and throwing the dice again with the TURBINE XL VEGAS collection, a winning three of a kind with three new models. The décor of all of these special editions in limited series of 250 examples each was inspired by the elegant universe of the casino and world capital of entertainment.

Tuxedos, card games, roulette and green mats. Perrelet is betting on the fun side and playing on its own skill to bring three new Turbine timepieces to life in XL 48 mm-diameter versions: Turbine XL Poker; Turbine XL Playing With Fire; Turbine XL Roulette.

The Turbine XL Poker conceals a winning hand that is only revealed when the titanium turbine spins at full speed and turn by turn displays a fan of cards decorating the under-dial: a pair of sevens and two Royal Flushes, one spades and one hearts. Plenty of ways to bluff your way to a win!

Gold ignites the under-dial of the Turbine XL Playing With Fire. The pure refinement of a golden base radiantly illuminates the black case, of which the somber elegance highlights the clarity of the gold-toned hands and hour-markers. According to the speed of the turbine’s rotation, the gold shines, erupting in glowing splendour between the blades until it fuses into a profision of luminous bouquets.

The Turbine XL Roulette is dedicated to the queen of gaming saloons. The red and black divisions of the famous “wheel of fortune” compose an original motif on the under-dial and make the turbine an ideal ally in revealing the winning numbers. The white hour and minute hands bring to mind the pristine white of the ball thrown by the croupier, discreetly reproduced under the Turbine and immobilised on the number 7, Perrelet’s symbolic number. All the watches in the Turbine XL Vegas collection feature black PVD-coated steel cases and are fitted with black rubber straps. Perrelet has equipped these timepieces with the Manufacture P-331 self-winding movement.
