Dubai's very own Covent Garden experience launches right in the heart of Deira

Areas in and around the Al Ghurair Centre mall come alive with international street theatre acts on an ongoing basis.

Deira, the cultural and original centre of Dubai will see world class musicians, illusionists, circus acts and mime artists interact with shoppers on a daily basis.

The Al Ghurair Centre in Deira continues to showcase new and exciting urban talent as part of their commitment to support art, music and culture in the community. With a fresh selection of acclaimed, international street artists performing, shoppers visiting the mall can enjoy an action-packed calendar of free, daily entertainment as they shop, dine and socialise in the area.

Some of the world's leading street acts will be performing at the mall on an ongoing basis, in addition to the Al Ghurair Centre's Street Theatre Carnival. This 10 day festival is taking place from 20th to 29th March and will see more than 25 international acts take to the streets of Deira as part of the urban culture the Al Ghurair Centre is embracing.

Straight from Spain, illusionist Moises Cedeno will wow crowds by fire-eating, action and humour - pushing himself to the limits of fear and pain.  With jaw-dropping shows filled with audience participation, the family-friendly tricks will leave audience members captivated from first glance.

No street theatre entertainment would be complete without a one-man band. The Al Ghurair Centre however, adds an additional twist. One-man band Eugenio Jedi Martinez will get the crowd's toes tapping to his exotic and modern music mix. Uniquely blending Spanish flamenco guitar, Cuban and jazz elements with world music and an acoustic fusion of other styles, Eugenio's one-man music show is a refreshing modernisation of a traditional talent.

Whilst enjoying the complimentary street entertainment, don't forget to look up as tightrope walker Johnny Mentero will be mesmerising the crowd with his dynamic and daring tight rope show.

Finally, to add to the excitement, visitors can also engage in a language without words with Kurlyclown's performance of Charlie Chaplin's “The Tramp”. This tender performance will connect the audience both nostalgically and humorously and appeal to both the wealth of different nationalities living in the area and the stream of tourists flooding in.

The artists will be performing daily in the central atrium and around the streets of the Al Ghurair Centre, from 5pm on weekdays and 1pm on weekends.
