In a bid to encompass its kind initiatives to include the community Ajman Chamber of Commerce & Industry contributed to the Thamer Salman Scholarship Fund. H.E. Abdullah Al Muwajai, Chairman Ajman Chamber; presented the generous contribution of AED100,000 to Mr. Abdullah Salman, Director of the Fund. Osama Saeed Salman, CEO and Vice-President of AUST expressed his utmost gratitude to H.E. Abdullah AL Muwajai for his relentless support and the cooperation extended by Ajman Chamber, contribution to this Fund signifies Ajman Chambers commitment to support this significant initiative. Thamer Salman Scholarship Fund aims at assisting students by financing their education at Ajman University of Science and Technology. The main purpose of Thamer Fund is to provide financial aid to AUST students who are financially underprivileged and therefore are unable to pay their educational fees. The late Mr. Thamer Salman, may Allah bless his soul, came up with the idea of ‘Takaful' years ago to help AUST students in need and promote the spirit of social solidarity. The Thamer Fund eases the pressure on some AUST students will motivate them to work harder in order to achieve excellence throughout their academic life at the University. Ajman Chamber plays a vital role in enhancing the economic position and promoting the commercial and trading activities in the Emirates of Ajman. Its active participation in regional and international events ensures that the Emirates of Ajman is abreast of the latest trends in the global economics. “Supporting students is a tradition deeply rooted in and ardently followed by Ajman University throughout its 25 years of existence. Since its inception, various decrees and regulations have been issued to aid academically outstanding as well as financially disadvantaged students to assist them in pursuing their further education,” said AUST Vice-President. Mr. Abdullah Saeed Salman, Director of the Scholarship Fund aptly stated, “This fund is dedicated to the kind spirit and unrelenting efforts of Late Thamer Salman who strived to alleviate any hurdles faced by the students during their tenure at AUST”. The Fund has had an overwhelming private contribution from social personalities, these contributions are a noble gestures by the respected community on a personal scale. Ajman University is a leading sponsor of students; AUST spent a staggering amount of AED 80 million during the past 5 years on scholarships, waivers and discounts for top achievers and students in need.
