Oasis Centre's ‘Clothes for Compassion' Drive Receives Tremendous Response from UAE Residents

• 15 Tonnes of Wearable Clothes Collected for the Needy

Dubai-UAE: 15 December, 2013 – Oasis Centre, Dubai's friendliest mall, announced that its Clothes for Compassion initiative concluded successfully, having collected 15 tonnes of wearable clothes for the needy.

The initiative, which ran from October 21 – November 21, invited residents to donate used clothes in bags available at Oasis Centre, as well as across select Max and Babyshop outlets in the UAE. The collected clothes will be sent through the Red Crescent Society to aid displaced Syrians living in refugee camps in Jordan. 

Neelesh Bhatnagar, Director, Oasis Centre, said: “We are very pleased to have received such a positive response from the residents of the UAE. It gives us great pride and joy to be part of a community that expresses a collective interest in helping those in need.

“The clothes we have collected will certainly make a difference in the lives of the unfortunate victims of the Syrian Civil War. We remain dedicated to encouraging and organizing many more such initiatives to make the world a better place.”

The Clothes for Compassion concept was implemented in collaboration with Max Fashions, the UAE's leading value fashion brand, Babyshop, a concept store specializing in toys, fashion clothing, baby basics and nursery furniture among other things, and Emax, the largest electronics retail chain in the Middle East. Aramex, a global provider of comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions, was a strategic partner in the venture.
