The Center's pavilion registered high footfall and appreciation for the quality of the workshops hosted for visitors, particularly school students. Held under the sponsorship of the National and Social Cohesion Strengthening initiative, Taweya 2013 ran from October 28 – 30 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre. The Center's involvement at the event came as part of its objective to promote the community across Abu Dhabi to adopt waste management practices such as separation of waste at source and the importance of waste reduction, reuse and recycling. The Center also leveraged its presence at the event to highlight its objectives and functions. Towards this end, the Center hosted daily seminars that invited questions from visitors to the pavilion. The Center conducted workshops for children on the importance of observing hygiene and safety of the environment. To help children play a greater role in its waste separation project, CWM highlighted the difference of the green and black bins. The edutainment workshops also called for the sustainable use of natural resources to encourage the reduction of waste production. As part of the activities, the Center ran competitions that saw the distribution of awards to incentivize and engage the children. Eng.
