Dubai Islamic Bank Foundation donates medication worth AED 300,000 to Thalassemia Patients.

United Arab Emirates, Dubai, October 9, 2013: Dubai Islamic Bank Foundation recently donated AED 300,000 to Thalassemia patients in Fujairah.

The humanitarian initiative is part of the ‘Help' campaign which is supported by the Dubai Thlassemia Centre and aims to reach out to Thalassemics across the UAE.
 
Dr Khawla Belhoul, Director of the Thalassemia Centre said: “Thalassemic patients who face financial difficulties often need assistance to manage the disease and we appreciate the continuous support that we have received from Dubai Islamic Bank Foundation.  Such initiative help better the lives of Thalassemia patients. As Thalassemia is a life-long disease, continuous management and treatment of the disease and its complications is essential and therefore, we often need the support of such humanitarian organizations.”

Dr Somaya Al Neaimy from the Thalassemia Centre in Fujairah said: “We really appreciate the assistance received by DIBF and this aid will significantly improve the lives of these patients.  Thalassemia patients need the support of the community to help live a normal life to the maximum extent possible.”

Abdul Razak Al Abdulla CEO of DIB Foundation said that such initiatives are part of the charity's mission and that the aim is to improve the lives of patients and prevent further complications of the disease.
