ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Friday, July 5th 2013 [ME NewsWire]: The Leadership Development and Creativity Center at the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, organized a series of educational lectures and workshops aimed at identifying the leadership program, which was recently launched at the Ministry of Interior.

The lectures and workshops come in line with the directives of the police leadership to achieve the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Interior, with respect to the development and continuous improvement of human resources systems and components.

During the lectures, the participants reviewed the project's objectives, which include a comprehensive assessment of candidate officers to hold the (Chief of Section, BranchManager) positions, as per their level of efficiency and the eligibility to hold the position. This is achieved by identifying the requirements of the job and the future tasks, in addition to spreading the culture of high performance and excellence among officers, and other topics in order to improve the performance of the various departments and achieve excellence across the Ministry of Interior.

Moreover, participants reviewed the methodology of holding leadership positions, which consists of several stages; including internal declaration of vacancies in accordance with the conditions and requirements of each position; accepting candidates' applications; and choosing the best applicant to undertake a comprehensive assessment of competencies and capacities. Following the assessment process, the best applicants are selected for the job. Moreover, the selected candidates are required to undergo a performance review at the end of the first year on the job, to assess their efficiency.

Notably, the program is one of the modern programs applied across the Federal Government institutions in the State. It is also one of the best international practices for selection of employees to hold leadership positions, as per  an effective and objective methodology.
