ADP Discusses Security Cooperation with Belarus

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, July 2nd 2013 [ME NewsWire]: An Abu Dhabi Police delegation explored ways to enhance cooperation in the areas of police and security work with Belarus Ministry of Interior. Discussions also touched on developing the existing memorandum of understanding between the two parties to a joint cooperation agreement, in the exchange of expertise and specialized training.

The Abu Dhabi Police delegation, headed by Head of the Ports and Airports Police Department, Colonel KhamisMusbah Al Marar, visited the Republic of Belarus at an official invitation extended by the Belarus Interior Minister. The visit aims to acquaint the ADP delegation with the best practices used to secure and protect airports and land border ports.

The delegation members met with Belarus Interior Minister, Igor Shunevich, who lauded the deep-rooted friendship relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Belarus. Moreover, he emphasized the firm commitment to boost and develop security cooperation between the two countries, and the exchange of training experiences and field visits.

Colonel Khamis Al Marar conveyed the greetings of the police leadership in the UAE to the Belarus Interior Minister, praising the joint cooperation between the two countries in the areas of police and security work.

The visit included a reconnoitering tour to acquaint the ADP delegation with the police and security procedures at the various police facilities; customs procedures, Passports; as well as the training plans carried out at specialized institutes and centers in Belarus. The delegation members also reviewed the Belarus Ministry of Interior's efforts in the areas of policing and security, implemented as per cutting-edge technologies and developed experiences, in the field of police sniffer dogs breeding and training to secure facilities and installations.
