Mohammed Bin Rashid Library's Children's Library: Where Reading Journeys Begin

Dubai, UAE, March 23, 2026: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation is emerging as a leading force in championing children's access to knowledge, in line with this year's Emirati Children's Day theme, ‘Right to Digital Knowledge'.

At the heart of its offering is the Children's Library, an innovative, child-centric space featuring thousands of books, including interactive and 3D titles, alongside digital databases, free memberships, and inclusive services for children of determination. The initiative reflects a strong belief that investing in the future begins with nurturing young minds and sparking curiosity from an early age.

His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, said: “A child who picks up a book today will contribute to shaping the future. Intellectual development is as vital as physical and emotional growth. Books are a child's first gateway to awareness, and a bridge to their identity, culture, and the world.”

Al Murr emphasised that the Children's Library was carefully designed to make reading a joyful experience for every child.

Envisioned as a second home, the Library offers a dynamic environment where children can explore, learn, and dream.

A Space for Learning and Exploring

Designed as an interactive knowledge hub, the Children's Library houses more than 85500 books in multiple languages, covering science, fiction, literature, arts, and entertainment for children aged 5 to 12. Dedicated reading corners create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages exploration and imagination.

Blending learning with technology, the Library features interactive storytelling screens, digital games, and opportunities to engage with Pepper the robot. Children can also borrow tablets to access digital books and educational content, creating an immersive and modern learning experience.

Inclusivity remains a priority, with Braille books available for visually impaired children, ensuring equal access to knowledge for all.

Beyond books, the Library hosts year-round cultural events, workshops, and creative programs that develop children's cognitive and creative skills while strengthening their connection to reading.

Popular Titles Among Young Readers

The Library's collection includes a wide range of popular titles that have captured young readers' attention. Among the most borrowed are The Two Heroic Leaders by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and I Am the Bird by Bodour Al Qasimi, alongside the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney, the Dog Man series by Dav Pilke, and Ella Bella Ballerina and Cinderella by James Mayhew

Supporting Education

The Library plays a vital role in supporting students and schools by offering memberships that provide access to a wide range of physical and digital resources. These services empower children to research, learn, and expand their knowledge beyond the classroom.

By the end of February 2026, nearly 32,000 books were borrowed through children's memberships. This showed a growing reading culture and the success of ongoing efforts to instill a love of knowledge.

The Library also launched the Knowledge Horizons initiative, offering access to five digital databases. This initiative enables students of all ages to tap into reliable educational resources, strengthening their academic performance and research skills.
