The Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi Wins European Society for Quality Research Award for Quality Management and Implementation

Abu Dhabi, 7 July 2022: The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) announced today that it was one of the winners of the Quality Choice Prize for the Gold Category from the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR). EAD was recognised for its quality management and the implementation of its long list of programmes through which it has several achievements in the field of environmental protection and species preservation at the local, regional and global levels.
The Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi is the first environmental institution in the Middle East and North Africa region to receive this prestigious international award, which is the highest award in the Excellence Model from the European Society for Quality Research.
Representing EAD at the Awards ceremony, which was held in Barcelona, Spain on July 3rd, was Rashed Alremeithi, Executive Director, Corporate Services Sector and Saoud Alneyadi, Director of Customer Happiness Division. At the event, 43 selected companies, public administrations and organisations representing 38 countries and different sectors across Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and Australia received the Quality Choice Prize 2022 at the Marriott Barcelona.
EAD is renowned for its innovative use of the highest standards and international best practices for a plethora of projects and initiatives, as well as the latest technology. The Agency goes through a rigorous quality management process during the implementation of its programmes to ensure that they are delivered in a timely and scientifically credible manner, all dedicated to enhancing environmental conservation in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, the Secretary General of the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi on the occasion said: “Improving the state of the environment in Abu Dhabi is our main mandate at EAD, and we work around the clock to ensure that all our activities are delivered on time and with state-of-the-art standards. We have a qualified team of experts, who base all our policies and regulations on very accurate scientific data and utilise the most advanced technology for maximum impact initiatives.

The Quality Choice Prize programme is one of the pillars of the ESQR’s annual recognition programmes which seeks to expand the quality culture and motivate the commitment towards the quality implementation models and programmes. The Quality Choice Prize annually recognises organisations, companies, and public administrations with ethics and initiatives that demonstrate exceptional success in quality management and that maximize the full potential of their services through quality-oriented practices.
The award-winning companies, public administrations and organisations are selected by ESQR based on the results of the ESQR’s polls, consumer opinion research and market study and the voters can also be companies, public administrations and organisations that have received a ESQR award in the past as well as customers, consumers, suppliers and collaborating companies. The selection process includes research of public information sources, publications and positive remarks, charity projects, chambers of commerce, university projects and exhibitions.
Among the most prominent government agencies that won this award at the world level: the Ministry of Environment in Poland, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Bolivia, the German Municipality of Weldboldsard, the Municipality of Amstetten in Austria, and others.
