Union Coop Receives Italian Delegation

Dubai, UAE:  Union Coop, the largest consumer cooperative in the UAE, received an Italian delegation specialized in the retail trade sector, which included a group of heads of several Italian companies specialized in general trade and independent entrepreneurs, with the aim of reviewing the global practices followed by the cooperative in the field of retail.

Union Coop was represented by Mrs. Priya Chopra – Strategy, Innovation & Corporate Development Director, Mr. Yaqoob Al Balooshi, Fresh Category Trade Dept. Manager, Mrs. Darin Awida the Deputy Director of Strategy, Innovation & Corporate Development Dept., Mrs. Sana Gul – Trade Development Sec. Mgr, and Mr. MOHAMMAD ABBAS, Sr. Showroom Supervisor – Al Warqa Branch.

During the tour, the visiting delegation heard about the most important services that Union Coop provides to consumers, in which it follows the best practices applied in the field of food retailing, delivery, customer happiness services, expansion strategies and digital solutions for retail, in addition to updating them of information about the culture of retail trade in the Union Coop. 

The visiting delegation included heads and owners of companies and supermarkets in Italy, such as Macfrut, TR TURONI, ASPROFRUIT, JINGOLD, ANBI and many others. The two parties exchanged experiences during a discussion session organized by Union Coop at Al Warqa City Mall, which was followed by a guided tour inside the hypermarket carried out by Mr. Yaqoob Al Balooshi, Mrs. Sana Gul and Mr. MOHAMMAD ABBAS, where they answered all inquiries received from the visiting delegation, and they also discussed ways of commercial cooperation between the two parties for the near future.

On being asked about his overall experience, Mr. Renzo Piraccini, President of MACFRUT thanked Union Coop for its hospitality. He considered Union Coop to be an expert in Supply Chain, especially in terms of managing Producers & Exporters of Fruits and Vegetables and of the latest Supply Chain technologies. 
“We as a group of companies visited Dubai as a part of Dubai Expo 2020 and a visit to Union Coop opens the door for future business prospects as well. Union Coop is a global platform as we can see from the varieties of fruits and vegetables and other products available here,” replied Piraccini when asked about the reason why he chose to visit Union Coop specifically.  

While the visiting Italian delegation thanked the Union Coop for the warm reception and for giving them an opportunity to see the best services provided, work and delivery mechanisms, modern technologies used in trade, promotions, and products display method in the showroom according to an organized vision that attracts shoppers.
