Bicycles to Beauty: Carrefour Reveals Predicted Top Sellers during Carrefour Friday Promotions
Last Update: Wednesday, November 18, 2020 : 12:28 (+4GMT)
Dubai, UAE, 18 November 2020: Carrefour, operated by Majid Al Futtaim in the UAE, has revealed its predictions for the most sought-after products during it’s “Carrefour Friday” promotion — an unmissable month of savings that has now kicked off online and in-store.
With the brand focused on experiences that deliver elevated value for all, Carrefour Friday 2020 will bring a month’s worth of saving opportunities as Carrefour caters to customers keeping an eye on their budgets. Driven by an 300% per cent increase in online sales amid the effects of the pandemic, the top-selling retail items in the UAE are expected to cover a broad variety of categories — from household items to beauty or personal care products and clothing.
More specifically, Carrefour expects to see large numbers of customers snap up a great value deal on the following.
Kitchen products: It’s no secret that many have spent their recent time indoors transforming into budding bakers and chefs. Based on 2019 sales data, cooking materials have typically accounted for between 2 to 3 per cent of all sales. Traditionally, within the top ten sales categories, baking and cooking appliances are expected to see strong sales as customers pursue new culinary hobbies at home and choose to stay in and eat, rather than visit restaurants.
Work from Home (WFH) essentials: With sales of micro-computers increasing from 10 per cent to 16 per cent this year, coupled with an increase in sales of phone accessories, it is clear that customers are seeking on-screen entertainment and technological efficiency as work from home and remote learning become widespread. Carrefour predicts these will only increase during Carrefour Friday sales, with items such as tablets and other electronics high in demand as professionals look for flexible options to stay connected.
Fitness equipment: Personal wellbeing is in sharper focus, and the brand predicts that many customers will spend on fitness equipment, including bicycles, to help them stay fit and healthy at home or outdoors under their own guidance. In fact, recent Carrefour data showed a spike in online search queries by 5 per cent for treadmills and yoga mats as customers look to work on their cardio and find more moments of Zen.
Alongside these predicted top-sellers, Carrefour estimates continued strong demand for last year’s leading products such as laptops, toys and games, and beauty and personal care products. In contrast, items likely to fall in popularity this year due to on-going social distancing measures include party dresses, eveningwear, and travel-related items such as suitcases or portable chargers.
Guided by the above insights, the Carrefour Friday sales will be larger than usual — primarily taking place through e-commerce channels as the brand continues to provide tech-driven experiences for customers.
Running until 5 December, the Carrefour Friday month offers customers the opportunity to purchase a range of quality items and products at discounted prices through exceptional promotions. These include buy-one-get-one free deals, early bird discounts, and a three-day super sale. The month of savings has already begun online at www.carrefouruae.com and in-store.
