UAE, 8 March 2020 - "Empowering women has always been on top of the UAE’s strategic priorities, inspired by the insightful vision and prudent policies of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and Their Highnesses Members of the Federal Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates. In implementation of our wise leadership’s directives, women in the UAE are playing a significant role in driving the UAE growth and sustainable development by managing strategic portfolios and assuming leadership roles at the three branches of Government: legislative, executive, and judicial. UAE women have succeeded in making significant achievements in various sectors, further enhancing the UAE’s civilisational accomplishments. Today, as we celebrate International Women’s Day 2020 under the theme #EachForEqual: I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women's Rights, we renew our commitment to empowering the society through empowering women.
Women have once and again proven themselves as capable of achieving excellence, demonstrating leadership at the professional and academic levels. We, at the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC), value women’s achievements, particularly those of Emirati women who are pulling out all stops to enhance our country’s leading position globally with their achievements. We remain committed to attracting competent and qualified women to further accelerate the development of the UAE legislative and legal systems to keep pace with the challenges and changes of the 21st century. We will spare no effort in empowering women to contribute to the UAE growth and development as worthy partners and competent achievers, in implementation of the vision of our wise leaders.
