1247 Media joins du to offer free unlimited WiFi UAE data to RTA taxi users

Dubai – December 4, 2019: 1247 Media, a leading media technology solutions provider in the UAE, partnered with du to provide free, unlimited WiFi to users of the taxi fleet of the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) during the 48th UAE National Day. The complimentary service was provided to all UAE residents on December 2 and 3, 2019.
As part of the initiative, 1247 Media installed the WiFi UAE service in 5,000 RTA taxi cars. A total of 10,000 cars of the RTA taxi fleet will have the WiFi system installed very soon. This is part of the WiFi UAE initiative; so that customers of taxi service in Dubai are able to enjoy WiFi data usage of up to 10 times faster browsing speed compared to the normal free WiFi speed.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Esam Al Mazroei, Group Vice Chairman of 1247 Media, said: “The rollout of the WiFi UAE service in taxis is enabling enriched connected value for people all over Dubai. The taxi WiFi project will ensure provision of innovative smart services in time for Expo 2020 Dubai. du is the official provider of the WiFi UAE. 1247 Media is in the service of creating experiences to people, who love using the idea of one network, hundreds of locations and limitless opportunities to connect and engage.

This service is in line with UAE Vision 2021 to provide the WiFi UAE service to the residents. 1247 Media will help du enhance its countrywide initiative to provide free WiFi to the public with high-speed access to all the UAE government online services.
