Dubai, United Arab Emirates - 04, August 2019: CASIO has joined forces with legendary boxing brand Everlast to produce the superb G-SHOCK GBA-800EL-4A model from the G-SQUAD line of fitness watches. The globally renowned brand said it has launched the new model in the Middle East.
Set to arrive in a matte red reminiscent of boxing gloves - with the world-famous Everlast logo engraved on the stainless steel case back, the dial, and the lower band - this custom version of the Bluetooth-connected step-tracking G-SQUAD watch carries the slogan ‘Choice of Champions’ that will be visible in red on the LCD display whenever the LED light is activated.
One of the GBA-800EL’s special fitness features is a three-axis acceleration sensor designed to keep track of step count as well as walking or running pace. The digital display shows the step count and hourly step graph, while the status indicator displays the target achievement rate.
The step tracking data, which also include calories burned and a daily-weekly-monthly step count graph broken down by five metabolic equivalent (MET) levels, are automatically or manually sent to a smartphone app. Using the smartphone’s GPS, the app can also display precise map locations of where the steps were taken -- thus providing a whole new way to use G-SHOCK for training.
“The lightweight and mid-size GBA-800EL-4A accurately reflects CASIO’s sports-themed collaboration with Manhattan-based Everlast. The latest model is packed with impressive features especially dedicated to physical training and sporting activities. Everlast has always been part of countless of champions as it is built on a brand heritage of strength, dedication, individuality and authenticity, which are the same values that we adhere to at CASIO. We look forward to bringing this new model to the Middle East market and taking the experience of our users to the next level,” said Koji Naka, Managing Director, CASIO Middle East.
Furthermore, the new wristwatch is equipped with interval training timers to support personalized workouts. Users can configure up to five individual timers repeatable up to 20 times. The shock-resistant model with 200-meter water resistance also has a stopwatch with up to 10 target times; a 200-lap record memory; five daily alarms; an hourly time signal; a hand shift feature; a full auto-calendar; 12/24-hour format; and a double LED light.
Users can perform other key functions from the G-SHOCK Connected app as well, including automatic time adjustment; world time for approximately 300 cities; time swapping; and phone finder.
"Without a doubt, this exciting new model will captivate the hearts of sports enthusiasts and individuals with an active lifestyle as it offers highly advanced and sophisticated features that makes it the perfect companion especially for fitness buffs who want to keep track of their progress. This innovative model serves as the perfect companion towards the journey to a healthy and active life. We are delighted to partner with leading athletic brand Everlast in the creation of this new model, which will be a unique addition to the lives of many people," Mahmoud Jabsheh, General Manager - Timepiece Sales Division, CASIO Middle East, concluded.
The G-SHOCK GBA-800EL-4A is now available at all G-Shock Stores across the UAE and is currently priced at AED 645 excluding VAT.
