Kicks Off With Limited Edition Offering

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - May 28, 2019:   Ralph Lauren re-introduces its iconic Polo Sport Collection, kicking off with two exclusive limited edition capsules: Polo Sport Denim & Polo Sport Silver. Each collection includes reissues of original Polo Sport pieces, as well as newly created pieces reimagining iconic designs of the past.

Originally launched in 1992, Polo Sport marked the first time a luxury fashion brand introduced a comprehensive line of sportswear. Recognizing the importance of health and fitness as a true lifestyle, Ralph Lauren created clothes not only as functional apparel, but that also captured the aura and powerful energy associated with a sports mentality. Since its inception, Polo Sport achieved cult status and was a favorite among street culture. The reissued Denim and Silver capsules pay tribute to these iconic, collectable pieces from the mid-90’s, while engaging with today’s consumer in an authentic, fresh, and relevant way.

The Polo Sport Denim capsule is available for both men and women, and is comprised of a classic cap, Dunagree jacket, utility jeans, and a women’s boyfriend short – all made of 100% cotton denim. Using original trim and branding with slight updates to design, the pieces are a mix of exact model reissues and takedowns, and adopt a signature Polo Sport aesthetic while capturing the modern sport-style appeal.

The Polo Sport Silver capsule is a men’s only collection, with outerwear, pants, and accessories. Some pieces such as the Polo Sport Silver jacket and fanny-pack, are a direct reissue, while others such as the windbreaker, vest, shell pant, and hats feature updated construction and colorways. For this series, Ralph Lauren repurposed design motifs, and adapted into bolder graphics all in the color scheme of Silver, Red, White, and Blue.

Both capsule collections will be available at the end of May 2019 on the Polo App, at select Opening Ceremony, Fred Segal and Bodega stores in North America, as well as at select global Ralph Lauren Stores and select global specialty stores.

Shortly following the Denim and Silver limited edition launch, Polo Sport will be available in wider distribution throughout future Polo seasonal deliveries.
