ANCA launches new Rhapsody Collection at ID Design

February 26, 2019 - Dubai, UAE -- This week, award-winning Dubai-based bespoke furniture company, ANCA-1985, launched its new Rhapsody Collection at India ID Design, the first collection to be showcased by the company in 2019. As a representation of simplicity meets serenity the ANCA-1985 collection features unique colours and materials that combine a soft and sedated mood. 

Anjali Goel, Head of Design of ANCA-1985, said the new Rhapsody Collection provided a variety of colour palettes whilst joining unique designs with metal finishings and luxury materials.

“With the introduction of the Rhapsody Collection, it has allowed for the ANCA-1985 design team to showcase the new designs and colours for this season. With the new collection, we introduce a series of unique ideas and concepts, including the “new white”, set to replace the beige white and other neutral colours, as well as design elements, such as a dining table with chairs and a long bench.  A key highlight is also the “liquid metal” finishing instead of glossy or high shine metals. Furthermore, we have specially curated a combination of three colours for each room, highlighting the motto “Rare Expressions of Elevated Living”, with each piece intended to be a "work of art", made to the highest quality, and continuing to showcase ANCA-1985 as a leading luxury manufacturer,” Goel said.

The Rhapsody Collection showcases many styles of wall dressing through panelling, reflecting a  key trend for 2019. In the bar area, eucalyptus veneer was used with textured marble for the table, made up of seven layers. Hand inlaid petrified stone, a semi-precious stone, was placed on the bar front, with a colour combination of saturated burgundy and a dusky nude.

For the formal living and dining areas, a colour combination of powder aqua and graphite including the “new white” was incorporated, setting a neutral yet unique tone. The graphite walls in liquid metal were accented with off white, aqua powder, and floral sofas to give the living space a soft look. The centre table, with honed finish and veins, was supplemented with a metal coating on top to provide an unusual look unique to ANCA-1985.  The other stone tops were provided with a pyrite finish, another semi-precious material.

A crystal blue onyx dining table was the centrepiece for the dining area, underlit from below with its black glass fluted base. Furthermore, the paired chairs offered a unique design element via traditional seating with a long bench. For the dining cabinet, it was fashioned with graphite liquid black paint and grey died tulip veneer.

A colour combination of autumn olive, taupe and dusky blue, along with veneer in high gloss, and liquid metal in champagne were used for the design of the bedroom set, especially curated by the ANCA-1985 design team. The bed was designed with special quilting, developed by machines exclusively found at the company.
