Second cycle of ‘Health Pioneers’ programme launched
United Arab Emirates, Dubai, September 19, 2018: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) launched today the second cycle of the ‘Health Pioneers’ training programme.
The eight-month leadership programme will take place in collaboration with GE Healthcare. The previous cycle took place last year in collaboration with Mohammad Bin Rashid School of Government and more than 400 officials benefitted from the programme.
HE Humaid Al Qutami, Director-General of the DHA, said: “In line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, we are keen to foster and develop young national talent in the health sector. The DHA focusses on continuous training and medical education to ensure it provides opportunities for growth and development to its employees. This programme helps employees develop their capabilities and leadership skills so that they can excel in their careers.”
The training programme will cover various topics including leadership skills, ways to empower subordinates, innovation and teambuilding and design thinking in healthcare.
Participants will also visit prestigious health entities and innovation hubs in the United States as part of the programme.
Naeema Muallem, an Emirati nurse in Rashid Hospital with over 20 years of experience, is one of the participants. She said, “I am thankful to the Authority for this opportunity as it will help me refine my leadership and management skills. I would like to advance my career and such programmes help build the necessary leadership and management skills required for career growth.”
