DKNY Fall 2018
Last Update: Sunday, July 15, 2018 : 16:04 (+4GMT)
Dubai, UAE, July 15, 2018: DKNY pushes its wear-everywhere ethos ever forward with a fall 2018 collection that calls to the heart of what every modern woman needs: elevated essentials found at the intersection of femininity and edge.
This season, that translates to a versatile, day-to-night assortment that exudes downtown toughness refined by uptown polish. Classic hallmarks of the brand—straightforward silhouettes, sharp tailoring, activewear-tinged separates, and sporty outerwear—have been reimagined with statementmaking details. Lace-up inserts, cut-outs, asymmetrical closures, puckered quilting, and intricate ruching make appearances on otherwise streamlined, structural pieces like jumpsuits, pants, and skirts. Soft movement is added thanks to ruffles, ties, and loosely gathered pleats. Edgy contrast arrives via tonal studs tracing the sides of seams, pockets, and sleeves, or sharply patterned atop sweatshirts and tees.
The season’s fresh sense of tactility is present in the use of fabrics and colors, as well: metallic lace, shorn faux fur, and supple satin are a refreshing contrast against easy-wearing neutrals—black, white, grey, and ivory—while soft lavender, oxblood, and iris enrich the colletion with a more autumnal mood. Pops of ultra pink, electric blue, speckled leopard, and camo add an essential jolt of new york energy.
At the heart of the collection are quintessential pieces that embody the brand’s long-held commitment to function and form. Statement outerwear for every climate and attitude is key: a plaid blanket coat is upgraded with a fringe-trimmed shawl collar, a classic puffer coat is modernized in an iridescent vinyl fabric, and zippered bombers are warmed up thanks to printed faux fur.
Accessories are structured and geometric, with shoulder bags and crossbodies rendered in futuristic metallics, black, and vibrant cherry. The iconic dkny logo is well-represented on tiled totes and the essential leather fanny pack. Footwear highlights include fuzzy, open-toed slides; lug-soled loafers; lace-up oxfords; sculptural boots in sleek black, white, and grey; and dkny-stamped sock sneakers in oxblood and grey.
