Union Coop to Sponsor the IIA's 2018 International Conference

The largest Consumer Coop in the UAE will be sponsoring the IIA’s 2018 International Conference, looking forward to writing a new & unique chapter in terms of community service and development

April 30, 2018 – Dubai, UAE:
Union Coop, the largest Consumer Coop in the UAE signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), which states that the Union Coop will be sponsoring the 2018 International Conference of the Internal Auditors, which is going to be hosted in Dubai on May 6 – 9, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and ruler of Dubai. 

The recent agreement comes in the direction of Union Coop’s commitment to support UAE based international events and contribute to the state’s success as well as global reputation in a notable manner. 

Speaking about the event and Union Coop’s initiative, H.E. Khalid Humaid Bin Diban Al Falasi, CEO of Union Coop said, “We’ve always believed that Internal Audit diligence is one of the pillars of our National Economy. Through this sponsorship, we look forward to support national activities such as this, which inversely contributes to our nation’s economy and supports Union Coop’s social responsibility objectives as well.” 

Explaining this fruitful step in his own words was Mr. Abdulqader Obaid Ali, Chairman of the UAE Internal Auditors Association (UAE IAA) said, “I am very pleased to see this level of commitment and support from Union Coop towards the IIA. This support stems from the management’s deep understanding about the importance of internal auditing in the progress of the overall nation.”  

He further praised Union Coop’s desire to be a part of this important International event hosted by the UAE, which will include information, lectures and workshops for the benefit of concerned professionals.
