Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has launched a wide range of applications and services for online inquiries and payments in line with its ongoing smart transformation and innovation initiatives. The newly introduced applications and services are going to provide the greatest convenience, flexibility and speed in providing services to customers in line with the Smart Dubai Initiative’s goals and in response to the directives of the wise leadership to make Dubai the happiest city in the world.
Amer Ali, Executive Director of DMCA, said: “In DMCA, we make every effort to promote innovation and employ new technologies for the benefit of the maritime sector and ensure its sustainability. Future solutions, smart applications, and e-licensing mechanisms are our top priorities, driven by an ambitious vision to make innovation and smart transformation a solid foundation for exploring and shaping the future of the maritime sector. Ultimately, our goal is to effectively transform Dubai into a major hub of the global economy in line with the objectives of Dubai Plan 2021.”
The newly launched smart portfolio includes a range of electronic and interactive services, including Application Status; Crew License Validity; Craft License Validity; Penalty Search; Apply for Penalty Objection; Penalty Payment; and Service Payment.
Their interactive, competitive, and innovative features are designed to answer all kinds of customer queries about marine services; make payments without having to visit the DMCA headquarters; and provide innovative solutions in support of Dubai’s transformation into a smart city with world-class technological infrastructure. These solutions are seen to help accelerate the completion of maritime transactions while adhering to the highest standards of quality, efficiency and reliability.
“Our smart platforms and e-portal are a major boost to the development of the maritime sector in line with the latest smart innovations that support the government's goal to reduce by 80 per cent the number of applicants visiting our customer service centers by the end of this year,” said Mahmoud Oweida, Director of Information Technology, DMCA.
“Our aim is to provide the best marine services and develop them on the basis of strong pillars of innovation and intelligent transformation. We are simplifying, accelerating, and facilitating government services to bring happiness, ensure community welfare, and support efforts to build a smart and fully connected city with a sustainable capacity to keep pace with future growth.”
These innovative solutions are part of a long list of DMCA’s achievements and initiatives launched to deliver smart marine services, including the Dubai Maritime Virtual Cluster (DMVC); Innovation Quay; Maritime Innovation Lab; Sea Dubai; and Maritime Dubai initiative under the management of Dubai Maritime Cluster Office, among others.
