Abu Dhabi, April 17, 2018: Abu Dhabi-based developer Tamouh Investments has unveiled a unique art piece created in honour of the UAE’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed, at Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2018.
Conceived by renowned Emirati artist Ashwaq Abdullah, the work is inspired by the individual “thank you” messages from Emiratis and expatriates posted on social media in 100 languages using Tamouh’s “#ShukranZayed” hashtag as part of the ‘Year of Zayed’ initiative.
The “Shukran Zayed” art piece design was officially unveiled by H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, along with Ghanem Al Mansoori, CEO of Tamouh and Miss. Abdullah on the first day of Cityscape Abu Dhabi.
Visitors at the real estate event, which is taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) until April 19, were able to see and interact with the concept design presented as a large 3D render on a wide interactive screen for the first time.
The involvement of so many people of different nationalities “represents the international reach that Sheikh Zayed continues to have,” said the artist.
“This project is very dear to my heart and I greatly appreciate the opportunity to show my gratitude to the man who achieved so much for his homeland and the world, and who inspired so much of my life,” said Miss. Abdullah.
The art structure’s chrome and metal surface will allow the future visitors at Reem Downtown to interact with the reflections, shapes and shadows that cover its surface. Three-dimensional Arabic text of Sheikh Zayed's name were added to the piece to further commemorate the father of the UAE.
The trending “#ShukranZayed” hashtag allowed Emiratis and expatriates to express their gratitude to Sheikh Zayed for helping to lay the foundations of the UAE’s development and promoting the important values of wisdom, respect, sustainability and human development among citizens and residents alike.
Visitors to Cityscape Abu Dhabi will be able to take part of the “Shukran Zayed” initiative and leave their personal messages through the interactive platform available at Tamouh’s stand.
H.E. Nadir Al Hammadi, Chairman of Tamouh said: “We are proud to be taking part at Cityscape, the capital’s most prestigious real estate investment and development event. Through this platform we get to engage with our many stakeholders and provide the latest update on our work and progress.
“With strong interest from the local, regional and international investors for Reem Downtown at Cityscape, our aim is to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a residential, touristic and business hub on the global map.”
Tamouh, whose developments include Marina Square and City of Lights on Reem Island, will showcase Reem Downtown and the newly finished Horizon Towers at Cityscape.
A range of 1-3 bedroom apartments will be available for sale and leasing at Horizon Towers, located in Reem Island’s City of Lights development. The latest addition to the capital’s real estate sector, Horizon Towers offers a range of retail outlets, a swimming pool, gym and yoga terrace.
Ghanem Al Mansoori, CEO of Tamouh, said: “The ‘Shukran Zayed’ initiative and the ‘Year of Zayed’ have allowed the people of the UAE to show their appreciation of the country’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed, as well as to the leadership and each other.
“Tamouh is proud to be able to give people across the UAE a platform to share their gratitude and admiration for Sheikh Zayed and for the values he instilled in the UAE.”
On a commercial note, Tamouh has also initiated the sale of plots at Reem Downtown, located at the north-western shores of Reem Island. The master development, designed to be a mixed-use residential district includes parks and open spaces, waterfront promenade, sports fields, school, mosques, marina, pedestrian and cycling links, and mangrove observation centre.
