Dubai-UAE: 14 December, 2017 –  The UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) is moving its headquarters from Abu Hail in Dubai to a new state-of-the-art building in Al Ruwayyah 2 on Sunday, December 17, 2017.

The new eco-friendly headquarters building has been designed using sustainable building materials and cutting-edge technologies to promote energy efficiency, in line with international environment safety standards and green building requirements.

Taif Mohammad Al Amiri, Director of Government Communication Department at MoCCAE, said: "Some of the key characteristics of the green headquarters building are its modern architectural design, its adherence to best-in-class sustainability and green building standards in optimizing energy use, ensuring ease of movement across different departments and sections and its reduced environmental footprint.”

Al Amiri added: “Designed to ensure efficient use of electricity, water, and air conditioning through leveraging eco-friendly building material including sun-insulating surfaces, the building seeks to improve the quality of the indoor and outdoor environment and in doing so preserves the health and safety of the environment as part of the Ministry’s social commitment.”

Energy-saving lighting is used to illuminate the entire building that features photo voltaic panels and is linked to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) grid to save 10% of the building's energy needs.

Built across a total area of 64,000 square meters, the MOCCAE headquarters spreads across five floors and a terrace that offers 470 parking spaces for employees and dealers visiting the premises.

The Dubai branch of the MOCCAE’s Customer Happiness Center will receive customers at the new building from 7.30am to 2.30pm, five days a week. With the aim of enhancing the satisfaction of customers with the Ministry’s services, the center provides dedicated counters and tablets that enable employees to communicate with the customers and meet their needs more effectively.
