UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention signs MoU with RAK Hospital

UAE, January 31, 2017- On the sidelines of Arab Health Exhibition and Congress 2017, the Ministry of Health and Prevention has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the RAK Hospital, a multispecialty healthcare facility in Ras Al Khaimah. The partnership is aimed at benefitting patients in the emirate with limited by helping them to prevent blindness through early detection of eye diseases.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Hussein Abdel-Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention’s Health Centers and Clinics Sector, and Dr. Raza Siddiqui, Chief Executive Officer, RAK Hospital.
Dr. Al Rand said: “The cooperative agreement with the RAK Hospital and various other healthcare facilities can contribute in strengthening the Ministry’s efforts to improve the services rendered to patients and ensure its optimum quality. It is also a way to safeguard people’s access to comprehensive healthcare in line with the Ministry’s strategy to boost the individual and the community healthcare services in the UAE. We are confident that the latest move will help in providing comprehensive and distinctive services in a sustainable and healthy environment through effective local and international partnerships in accordance with the policies, legislation, and programs.”
Under the MoU, the Ministry of Health and Prevention will provide the infrastructure for doctors and technicians assigned to inspect the health and mobile care centers.
The RAK Hospital will provide a fully-equipped vehicle for conducting thorough investigation of eye by an ophthalmologist and optician to improve the visual capabilities of patients. In addition, it will also contribute in spreading awareness for community services related to eye health.
Both parties have agreed that this MoU will remain valid for a period of one year and will be renewed automatically. In addition, the joint initiative between Ministry of Health and Prevention and RAK Hospital will remain scalable in its scope to include other healthcare specialties under the Ministry. Both parties will spread awareness campaigns through various publications and on different media.
