Roger Dubuis Astral Skeleton Exhibition completes successful Dubai debut

Dubai, UAE, November 19, 2016:  After a week of wowing fine watch enthusiasts and a stream of select invitees, the Roger Dubuis Astral Skeleton Exhibition at Dubai Mall, wound up on a successful note. 

The exhibition not only succeeded in creating greater awareness about the world of Roger Dubuis and the intricate processes by which the maison's masterpieces are crafted and conceived, but also drew attention to the maison's new creations and the high points of technical excellence and innovative genius that the brand has achieved over the years.

Dubai Mall, with its vast footfall of high-end shoppers, was an ideal location for the the Astral Skeleton Exhibition, with Dubai being located at the hub of one of the Geneva-based watchmaker's major markets. The Mall is also home to one of the three Roger Dubuis boutiques in this region.

The Astral Skeleton Exhibition was created exclusively for Dubai and enabled guests and Fine Watchmaking aficionados alike to embark on a journey through time and space as interpreted by Roger Dubuis. Propelled by a magnetic force, visitors were drawn into the heart of this exhibition, consisting of five architectural spaces defined by the signature star shape reflecting that of the Manufacture’s iconic skeleton movements.

The highlight of the event was the Roger Dubuis “Incredible Calibres” Virtual Reality Experience, providing guests an opportunity to enjoy a journey enhancing the architectural and technical mechanics of its pioneering contemporary skeleton movements.

This interstellar voyage through time and space allowed guests a look at the secrets behind the development of the precision techniques and skills that go into creating the Maison’s signature calibres: the Double and Single Flying Tourbillon Skeleton - RD01SQ and RD505SQ - and the Automatic Skeleton - RD820SQ.

Alongside the exhibition, Roger Dubuis also showcased some of the outstanding timepieces that will be unveiled at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva in January 2017. These included the Blossom Velvet Pink and Excalibur Automatic Skeleton Carbon, both proud bearers of the distinctive DNA of the Maison and representing outstanding examples of its consistently avant-garde design skills.
