Dubai, UAE, October 18, 2016: WiFi UAE now offers visitors to JBR access to seamless connectivity to the Internet through the choice of either free or premium WiFi. Expanding its footprint to enhance happiness through connectivity, WiFi UAE has seen 3,296 shoppers, diners and beachgoers taking advantage of the rollout to connect to the Internet in the area throughout the month of August, a 28% increase on those that connected during the month of July (2,569).
Sharing has never been easier as visitors can log onto WiFi UAE using a WiFi enabled device and a UAE mobile telephone number and choose between the free or the premium option – for high speed Internet to browse and chat.
As the master developer and asset manager of JBR, Dubai Properties (DP) supports the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to fulfill his mission to create happiness, by embracing technology innovation and making Dubai a destination of choice for residents and visitors. According to Juma Bin Darwish, Executive Director Retail & Hotel Asset Management at Dubai Properties, he stated “As the city gears up to welcome an anticipated 20 million tourists per year by 2020, DP places great importance in enabling connectivity throughout our destinations in line with the strategic vision and plans of Smart Dubai. We are pleased to work together with our strategic technology partners to bring WiFi to JBR in order to deliver impactful experiences for residents and visitors.”
Speaking of the success of the rollout, Jihad Tayara, Vice President Business Development and Partnerships, du said: “Connectivity and sharing form a large part of people’s lives, whether they are looking for opinions on a pending purchase, or simply want to find out more about a particular interest. Today, we are happy to cater to one of Dubai’s most popular destinations by providing its visitors seamless connectivity so that they can find and share information and experiences, and even pay their bills while at the beach.”
“Today also marks an important step on our quest to support the UAE smart government by enabling the fruition of the leadership’s smart city vision by providing Internet across the city,” he added.
WiFi UAE expects to enable WiFi connectivity through more than 300 locations by the end of the year. The service offers users two types of Internet connection; WiFi UAE, a free WiFi service and WiFi UAE Premium, an affordable paid service that allows users unrestricted upload and download speed.
du has introduced WiFi UAE in a number of high footfall areas including RTA serviced areas such as the Dubai Metro and Tram, malls, Emaar Boulevard Downtown Dubai and Global Village, to name a few. It provides fast and free access to all government websites and apps. Whether you need WiFi access for business or personal use, you can avail du’s premium WiFi services regardless of your network provider. All you need to access the premium WiFi service is a UAE mobile number and a WiFi-capable device. This includes smartphones, laptops, tablets, gaming devices and more.
