Bayt.com Empowers UAE Employers with Annual Thought Leader Event at Careers UAE

Dubai, UAE, 18 May 2016: Highlighting its commitment to empower employers in the UAE with the tools and information to source, hire, and manage talent, Bayt.com, the leading job site in the Middle East, held its exclusive thought leader event, on May 18 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Zabeel Hall 4.
The event brought together the UAE’s top recruitment and talent management professionals, the heads of some of the country’s most successful organisations, and keen recruiters leading business influencers and Bayt.com to discuss the skills gap in the UAE and question whether employers, educational institutions and UAE professionals are aligned to meet the demands of the new economy. Case studies, presentations and panel discussions were presented by both recruitment and talent development experts at Bayt.com and a high-level panel of guest speakers.
During the event, Bayt.com’s Regional Director, Suha Mardelli Haroun, gave a welcome address and an overview of the 2016 UAE job market.

During the event, a panel discussion that shed light on the skills gap in the UAE featured industry heavyweights Mohammed Omar Al Qedrah, Director of Recruitment and HC Services, Human Capital Department, at DP World; Essa El Mulla, Chief, National Workforce Development at ENDP; Mohamed Alsaabri, Senior Director, National Development Human Capital and Administration at du; and Professor Abhilasha Singh, Dean, College of Education at the American University in the Emirates. The panel covered pressing topics on how to bridge the skills gap from multiple levels in the UAE.
A host of high-level guest speakers were invited to address the hiring and retention of employees through specific case studies. These included Joe Chalouhi, Senior Human Resources Director, Global Growth Organisation and Oil and Gas, Human Resources Middle East, North Africa & Turkey Region at General Electric; Christians Cruz, Managing Director, MGR Management Consulting; and Moustafa Hamwi, International Speaker, Passionpreneur and Chief Energy Officer at MoustafaHamwi.com.
